Information
Born in Jerusalem in 1970.
Awad began taking photos as a hobby in 1989. He worked as a photographer during the first Intifada and in 1990 began working with the French News Broadcasting agency as a photojournalist specializing in Palestine. During this period, he won a photography scholarship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and completed his education at the International School of Photography, in Arel, France. He returned to Palestine to work as a professional photographer, and has been awarded many accolades including Picture of the Year (1994 and 2000) from the University of Missouri. Awad also took part in the Third Annual UNDP/PAPP Art Auction in 2004.
