Palestinian
journalist and researcher Walaa Battat submitted her doctoral dissertation in
the philosophy of media studies and children's culture at the Graduate School
of Childhood Studies at Ain Shams University, entitled (Arab and foreign
satellite channels' treatment of Israeli violations of the rights of the
Palestinian child and the position of international law on them), and she
obtained an excellent degree.
Walaa gave a
scientific discussion that included a distinguished presentation and a summary
of her study, and she used videos documenting the violations.
Media doctor
Walaa says: It was not easy to reach these results and my choice in a rare
specialty that is considered the only one in the Middle East region specialized
in children's media, expressing her pride in this achievement.
And she
continued: It is necessary for there to be continuous coverage of the Israeli
violations against the Palestinian child, but it is more important to stop at
the nature of this coverage, its motives, and how to address these violations,
because some satellite channels serve the claims and goals of the occupation
through their coverage.
And she
dedicated the loyalty of her effort in her study to the oppressed and oppressed
children of Palestine, and the deprived of their rights, and to the souls of
the martyrs and prisoners.
