Dr.
Ayman Abu Shomer, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Languages - Department
of English Language and Literature at the University of Jordan, Aqaba Branch,
won the Culture and Creativity Award in the field of literary and cultural
studies offered by the United Kingdom to graduates of British universities.
Abu Shomer received the award during the ceremony
held at the British Council in Amman to honor the winners of the British
Education Graduate Awards at the national level for the year (2022-2023) and in
various disciplines.
Abu Shomer affirmed his pride in this honor, which
reflects appreciation for the efforts he made and the extent of their
reflection on society and the benefit of people and science, indicating that it
is very important to invest scientific energies and capabilities to serve
communities positively in society, praising all parties working on this award.
Abu Shumar obtained two degrees (Masters in
Philosophy of Arts and a PhD in English Language and Literature) from the
University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, where he showed great interest in
research studies in English literature, cultural studies and contemporary
literary theories.
The award, which is being awarded for the second
year in Jordan and the ninth year in the world, celebrates the outstanding
achievements of international British education graduates around the world.
