Saadi Muhammad Hassan Al-Tamizi is a Palestinian diplomat , born on January 26, 1961 AD in the town of Idhna in the Hebron Governorate in the West Bank. Since 2009, he has served as Resident Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia and the People's Democratic Republic of Laos. He is married and the father of four children.
His upbringing and educational attainment
Ambassador Saadi Salama was born on 1/26/1961 to a family from the Al-Tamizi family in the town of Idna in the Hebron Governorate , where he completed middle school and then moved in 1976 to the town of Tarqumiya to continue his studies at Tarqumiya Secondary School for a year, after which he continued his secondary studies - the scientific branch - At Al-Hussein Bin Ali Secondary School in the city of Hebron, he obtained his high school diploma in 1979. Immediately after completing his secondary studies, he joined the ranks of the Palestinian revolution. Then he left for Vietnam in 1980 and joined Hanoi University and obtained a graduate degree in Vietnamese language and political studies in 1984. Then he obtained a higher diploma in media from Sana’a University in 1994.
Political career
Al-Tamizi’s involvement in political life dates back to 1976 when he participated in national activities against the Israeli occupation. Then he left Palestine in 1979 to join the ranks of the Palestinian revolution, and chose Vietnam to study there with the aim of learning about the Vietnamese experience in the national struggle and achieving independence, as the Vietnamese experience was a source of inspiration for him. Then, three years after leaving the homeland and two years after continuing his studies in Vietnam, Al-Tamizi joined in 1982 to work as a volunteer in the media department of the Palestine Liberation Organization mission in Hanoi. Then, during the period from 1984 to 1989, he worked as Deputy Head of the Palestine Liberation Organization Mission in Laos as Second Secretary. He then moved to work as Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Vietnam, with the position of First Secretary until 1992. Then, as Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Republic of Yemen, with the rank of Counselor until 2003 AD.
Ambassador Al-Tamizi served as Head of the Mission of the State of Palestine in the Republic of Yemen, as Charge d’Affairs during the years 2003-2004. He then served as Resident Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ghana, and Non-Resident Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea and Sierra Leone during the period extending from 2005. Until 2009. Then, at the end of 2009, he returned to Vietnam to assume his duties as resident ambassador of Palestine to Vietnam, and non-resident ambassador to both the Kingdom of Cambodia and the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos.

Ambassador Al-Tamizi emerged as a professional Palestinian diplomat through the tasks he was assigned since the beginning of his work in the Palestinian diplomatic corps. In addition to his work in many Palestinian diplomatic missions around the world, he was assigned to participate and head Palestinian delegations to many regional and international conferences in Africa, Asia, and Europe. His participation with delegations of Palestinian leaders, led by the late Yasser Arafat and President Mahmoud Abbas, also contributed to him getting to know many of Vietnam’s historical leaders.
Ambassador Al-Tamizi is classified as one of the most prominent Palestinian and Arab experts specializing in the Southeast Asia region in general, and the Indochina region in particular. He is also considered one of the very few who speak the Vietnamese language fluently.
He is also fluent in English, in addition to his mother tongue, Arabic and Vietnamese. He has many cultural and media contributions, as Ambassador Al-Tamizi is considered one of the most visible faces in the Vietnamese media, and he enjoys great respect among readers and viewers. In addition to his successes in the field of official diplomacy, he was able to achieve more successes in popular diplomacy, through his numerous participation in media events and programmes. He received the Excellence Award after participating in the “Hanoi Friends Forum” competition organized by the Federation of Friendship Organizations of the City of Hanoi in 2010 on the occasion of the thousandth anniversary of the founding of the capital, Hanoi, after writing an article about Hanoi, its importance, its role, and his memories that he lived there when he became a student pursuing his university studies there. .
Ambassador Al-Tamizi also contributed, through his book, which he wrote entitled “Guide to the Practice of Diplomacy and Protocol” [10], to providing a comprehensive and integrated guide to the rules of practicing diplomacy and protocol, as well as models of diplomatic correspondence, in addition to detailed explanations of many issues and names related to the field of diplomacy, which was It has a clear impact in raising the level of professionalism among the Palestinian diplomatic cadre, especially among beginners in this field. Al-Safir Al-Tamizi has many newspaper articles in Arabic, English, and Vietnamese. In addition to translating and editing some literary works from Vietnamese to Arabic and vice versa, including the book “Dien Bien Phu - 5 Unprecedented Miracles in the History of Wars” [12] , which narrates the details of the “Dien Bien Phu” battle that the Vietnamese forces fought against... The French Mandate Army in 1954, which ended with the victory of the Vietnamese forces under the command of General Fuḥ Nguyễn Giap.
